POSITION : B2 Programme Officer

SALARY : USD $21082 pa.

DURATION : Permanent

DFID’s programme in the DRC is at the forefront of work in fragile states and we have developed a reputation for flexible programming and innovation. This is a fantastic opportunity to shape front-line delivery and programme implementation. 

The DFID DRC office in Kinshasa is a vibrant, high performing office with around 50 expatriate and Congolese staff structured around three programme teams: (1) The Governance, Conflict and Humanitarian Team; (2) The Human Development Team, and (3) The Economic Development Team, which are supported by the (4) Strategy and Programme Effectiveness Team.

This role offers many opportunities for professional development. We are looking for someone with energy and enthusiasm,who is passionate about development, interested in learning more and taking on increasing levels of responsibility in the team.

Key Accountabilities and Responsibilities:

* Programme Management (60%) :

* Policy input on programme areas (20%)

* Communications and Corporate compliance (20%)

Ways of Working:To ensure that that DFID’s programmes are managed in accordance with DFID policy and procedures. The Programme Officer will be expected to work in partnership with technical advisers and other programme management staff. The successful candidate will also be expected to support other teams and staff across the office, as and when this support is needed.

In this varied role, the successful candidate will contribute to policy discussions relevant to their programmes, represent DFID in meetings with key partners, and respond to corporate returns.

The Programme Officer will need to operate DFID finance systems for managing programmes accurately meeting forecasts, targets and deadlines.  He/she will also work closely with the wider programme team to provide inputs and advice when required.

The Programme Officer will provide high quality and timely programme management advice and inputs to enable effective and efficient programme delivery. The successful candidate will be required to manage and/or engage with multiple projects/programmes simultaneously within DFID DRC.
