1. CONTEXT
SODEICO Sarl, a company specializing in the recruitment and provision of qualified personnel, is recruiting on behalf of one of their clients for a Program funded by USAID/BHA (United States Agency for International Development/Bureau of Humanitarian Assistance) an Agriculture Lead. The client is a global humanitarian organization that works with people in poverty and distress to create justice and positive change through empowering partnerships and responsible actions. For this position Based in Kasai/DRC ; the client seeks passionate, engaged and experienced candidate who embodies values of connectedness, courage and compassion.

3. DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES
a) In collaboration with the Purpose One Lead The Agriculture Lead will be responsible to:
- Promote sustainable agricultural practices, nutrition sensitive agriculture and sustainable climate smart agriculture practices
- Improve availability of information on nutrition- sensitive, climate-smart production and market information through fact sheet, pictorial guides, digital tools
- Complete Farmer Field School curriculum and syllabus
- Support implementation and startup of Farmer Fields School (identification of participants, trainings, demonstration field)
- Train SNV, IPA, SENASEM staff, and agrodealers, input suppliers, local NGOs, and farmer group on Climate-Smart Agriculture practices and required inputs and tools
- Facilitate effective use of quality production inputs by farmers to improve yield
- Initiate business model to support formal seed production
- Provide support to seed multiplication groups (access to land, training and capacity building, grants to seed production organizations, grants to seed cooperatives, linkage with INERA research station in Kwilu)
- Facilitate training to SENASEM staff, SNV extension specialists, INERA and other Ministry of Agriculture staff on seed production techniques
- Establish a voucher mechanism for farmer to purchase agricultural inputs, tools, and supplies
- Conduct agricultural input fair for input suppliers and other stakeholders to demonstrate products and technologies, promote sales and linkages among actors
- Strengthen farmers knowledge on high quality agricultural inputs from agrodealers
- Promote production of nutritionally dense food aligned with DRC ‘’four-star diet’’
- Design parmagarden as year-fruit and vegetable garden production including agroforestry and small-scale household livestock
- Support the implementation of small-scale irrigation to increase agricultural dry season production
- Support implementation of Market Information System
- Train farmers to better manage soil and water resources
- Support community group to advocate for inclusive land access
b) Monitoring of activity and reporting
- Ensure monitoring (follow up) field activities and regularly provide reports to Lead 1
- Provide weekly, monthly, quarterly, and annual activity reports to Lead 1
- Provide routine oversight and analysis of delivery data to M&E Manager
- Report on incidents during follow up of activities
- Provide reports of assessments on farmers' agricultural input needs
c) Financial management
- Forecast expenses and purchases in advance
- Ensure appropriate compliance with the client rules and regulations
- Manage project resources under his/her responsibility with transparency, probity and efficiency
- Respect the budget lines and avoid budget overruns
d) Planification/Reporting
- Plan weekly and monthly activities with Lead 1
- Contribute to the development of planning for the project's annual activities
- Contribute to the quarterly and annual report of project activities
- Support monitoring and evaluation with respect to data collection, data quality, project performance and progress
- Contribute and assist in providing technical and guidance to the client
- Ensure maintenance of the project files (administrative, financial, and programmatic)
- Record lessons learned and ensure they are shared in a timely manner
e) Representation
- Participate at the food security cluster meeting
- Participate at meetings and other activities of other projects funded by the client and other donors depending on the relevance of the activities
- Establish and maintain solid and good relationships with project stakeholders (consortium, local authorities, project beneficiaries, etc.)
f) Logistics /Procurement /Quality Assurance
- Comply with established procedures by the client
- Plan purchases of agricultural inputs and other materials on time
- Support the procurement/purchase staff to ensure effective interface with suppliers’ quality systems
- Support the quality review of project documents and deliverables
- Ensure that quality of work packages and deliverables complies with the client’s quality requirement
g) Personnel Management
- Ensure that performance reviews of staff under his/her supervision are conducted fairly, accurately, and timely
- Ensure safety and security for all project staff under his/her supervision
- Comply with the client security procedures
h) Other responsibilities
- Create, foster and role model a culture of respect and zero tolerance for discrimination, abuse of responsibility, harassment, sexual harassment, sexual abuse, and sexual exploitation
- Treat all individuals with respect; respond sensitively to difference and encourage other to do the same
- Ensure accountability for actions plans, as expected by the client

i) Humanitarian Accountability
- Adhere and comply with humanitarian accountability principles and the client codes of conduct
- Report and denounce all abuses according to the client procedures

4. BASIC SKILLS AND KNOWLEDGE
- Excellent written and oral communication skills, analytical, interpersonal, attention to details
- Ability to implement and support improved, sustainable agricultural practices
- Ability to support and implement effective nutrition-sensitive agriculture activities
- Ability to support implementation of small-scale irrigation for dry crop production
- Ability to support and facilitate equitable access to arable land for production
- Good knowledge of the seed system for seed producer farmers
- Ability to work with state service (INERA, SNV, SENASEM) and other actors to facilitate access to agricultural inputs (seeds)
- Ability to work in a team, communicate well, meet deadlines and make recommendations for change.

6. LANGUAGE PROFICIENCY
- Excellent command of French, knowledge of a local language spoken in Kasai. English is an asset (Intermediate level would be accepted).
7. PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS/WORK ENVIRONMENT/SPECIFIC REQUIREMENTS *. Travel
- Some local travel to project sites of activities
