1. CONTEXT SODEICO Sarl, a company specializing in the recruitment and provision of qualified personnel, is recruiting on behalf of one of their clients for a Program funded by USAID/BHA (United States Agency for International Development/Bureau of Humanitarian Assistance) a Communication Specialist. The client is a global humanitarian organization that works with people in poverty and distress to create justice and positive change through empowering partnerships and responsible actions. For this position Based in Kasai, DRC; the client seeks passionate, engaged and experienced candidate who embodies values of connectedness, courage and compassion.

2. ORGANIZATIONAL STRUCTURE The Communication Specialist will report to the MEAL Manager.

3. DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES a. Story Collection The Communication Specialist will be responsible to:
- Collect compelling stories that highlight the impact and success of the organization's programs and projects.
- Conduct interviews and gather information from beneficiaries, partners, and stakeholders to create engaging narratives.
- Ensure accuracy and ethical practices in storytelling, respecting the privacy and consent of individuals involved.
b. Branding and Marketing Material Creation
- Contribute to the development of branding and marketing materials, including brochures, reports, newsletters, and other promotional materials.
- Collaborate with graphic designers, photographers, and videographers to create visually appealing and impactful content.
- Ensure consistency in messaging and branding across various communication channels.
c. Stakeholder Meeting Support
- Assist in the preparation of stakeholder meetings, including community gatherings, meetings with local government officials, and coordination with other NGOs.
- Help facilitate effective communication and engagement between stakeholders to ensure productive discussions and collaboration.
d. Documentation of Impact Stories and Milestones
- Document success impact stories, case studies, and key milestones achieved by the organization.
- Collect and analyze data to support evidence-based storytelling and reporting on program outcomes and achievements.
- Ensure proper archiving and organization of documentation for easy retrieval and future reference.
e. Support to the MEAL Team
- Assist the MEAL team in data collection, analysis, and reporting as needed.
- Contribute to the development and implementation of monitoring and evaluation plans.
- Collaborate with the MEAL team to ensure accurate and timely reporting of program results.

4. BASIC SKILLS AND KNOWLEDGE
- Storytelling: The ability to collect, craft, and convey compelling stories that effectively communicate the impact and success of the organization's programs and projects.
- Content Creation: Proficiency in creating diverse and engaging content across various mediums, such as written articles, blogs, social media posts, videos, and infographics.
- Branding and Marketing: Knowledge of branding and marketing principles to ensure consistent messaging, visual identity, and effective promotion of the organization's initiatives.
- Multimedia Skills: Proficiency in using multimedia tools and software for graphic design, photography, video editing, and other visual content creation.
- Writing and Editing: Strong writing and editing skills to produce clear, concise, and impactful content for different communication channels and target audiences.
- Stakeholder Engagement: Excellent interpersonal and communication skills to engage and build relationships with stakeholders, including beneficiaries, partners, local communities, government officials, and other NGOs.
- Strategic Communication: The ability to develop and implement communication strategies that align with the organization's goals and objectives, effectively reaching and engaging the target audience.
- Data Collection and Analysis: Familiarity with monitoring and evaluation principles and methodologies to support data collection, analysis, and reporting on program outcomes and impact.
- Digital Communication: Proficiency in utilizing digital communication platforms, including social media, websites, email marketing, and online content management systems, to effectively reach and engage a wider audience.
- Cultural Sensitivity: Awareness and understanding of cultural nuances and sensitivities to ensure communication materials are respectful and appropriate for diverse cultural contexts.

5. QUALIFICATIONS AND EXPERIENCE REQUIRED
- Bachelor's degree in communications, journalism, marketing, or a related field.
- Minimum of 5 years of proven experience in Marketing, communication or digital within important organizations or challenging contexts;
- Minimum of 3 years of specific experience in storytelling, content creation, and communication in the context of NGO or international development work.

6. LANGUAGE PROFICIENCY
- Excellent command of English and good knowledge of French (written and spoken).
7. PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS/WORK ENVIRONMENT/SPECIFIC REQUIREMENTS * Travel
- Some local travel to project sites of activities
